Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you are experiencing emotional distress, facing challenges in your relationships, or feeling overwhelmed, therapy can be a helpful space to gain insight, develop coping skills and work through challenges. During an initial consultation, we can discuss your concerns and determine together whether therapy is the right option for you.

What types of therapy do you offer?

At Tikkun Therapy, we offer a variety of therapeutic modalities to best suit your individual needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-Informed Care, Psychodynamic Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. We work collaboratively with you to tailor the treatment approach that fits your goals and preferences.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can easily schedule an appointment by clicking on the "Book Now" or "Book Session" button on each page. We offer flexible scheduling, including evening and weekend appointments, to accommodate your availability. You can also contact us by calling (561) 789-9359 or emailing jonathan.belolo@tikkuntherapy.com.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept a variety of insurance plans, including UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Aetna, Optum, BlueCross BlueShield, Oscar UMR and more. Please contact us to verify your coverage, or we can provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

We also offer self-pay options for clients who prefer not to use insurance.

How long are consultations and therapy sessions?

Consultations typically last 15 minutes and are free. This gives us the opportunity to discuss your goals, answer any questions you have about the therapy process and determine if we are a good fit for each other.

A standard therapy session is 60 minutes long. We also offer 30 minute sessions for clients who prefer a shorter option or have specific needs.

What are your self-pay rates for therapy sessions?

The cost of therapy sessions varies depending on your insurance coverage. We accept a variety of insurance plans and your co-pay or out-of-pocket costs will be determined by your plan. Please contact us to verify your benefits and provide any additional information.

For clients who prefer self-pay or do not have insurance, the rate is $200 per 60-minute session and $100 per 30-minute session.

What if I cannot afford therapy?

We understand that therapy can be a financial commitment. If you're facing financial hardship, please reach out to us to discuss potential sliding scale fees or other options. We strive to make therapy accessible for everyone and we will do our best to find a solution that works for you.

What should I expect during my first session?

In your first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and discussing the reason you are seeking therapy. You will have the opportunity to share your goals and concerns and we will talk about how we can work together to achieve those goals. This session is also a chance for you to ask questions about the process and how therapy works.

How long does therapy typically last?

The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and needs. Some people may benefit from short-term therapy, while others may need longer-term support. After assessing your needs, we will work with you to create a treatment plan that aligns with your desired outcomes.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. We understand that life happens and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Can I receive therapy via telehealth?

Yes, we offer telehealth sessions for clients who prefer remote therapy or have difficulty attending in-person sessions. We use Zoom’s secure, HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure your privacy. Just let us know if you would prefer to schedule a telehealth session when you contact us.

How do I know if I am making progress in therapy?

At Tikkun Therapy, we use Measurement-Based Care (MBC) to track progress and ensure effective treatment. We utilize evidence-based assessments like PHQ-9 (depression), GAD-7 (anxiety), Y-BOCS (OCD), ACEs (trauma history), and more to monitor changes and adjust your treatment plan as needed.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. All sessions at Tikkun Therapy are completely confidential. We strictly follow HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and CFR-42 (Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Patient Records) to protect your privacy. Your information will never be shared without your written consent, except in cases required by law, such as safety concerns. Your trust is our priority, and we are committed to providing a safe, secure space for your healing.
